She is sent to a juvenile psychiatric hospital, where she develops a friendship with a felon named Cobra. Cobra will do anything to protect the people he loves and he soon develops feelings for April, but before he has a chance to tell her how he feels, he is transferred to a different hospital.
When April gets out of the hospital her mother drops her off at the bus station and tells her she is not welcome at home any longer.
Not knowing what to do, April travels to the psychiatric hospital to visit Cobra and they make plans for a life together when he is released.
